Terra has been selected as number one contender among the seven to redevelop Vizcaya Metrorail Station!
A Miami-Dade County selection committee named Terra and the partnership of 13th Floor Investments plus Adler Group to redevelop the Vizcaya Metrorail station in Miami.
Miami-based Terra was ranked first out of seven bidders May 13. Adler Group/13th Floor, also based in Miami, were ranked second, slightly behind the leading bid. County officials will enter contract negotiations with both groups and hammer out the details of their proposals.
Ultimately, it will be up to the County Commission to finalize a deal. If finalized, it would lead to a developer creating more housing near the busy public transit station, which would also receive upgrades.
The proposal by Terra is called Vizcaya Place. It would have towers of five and 10 stories with a combined 327 workforce housing units, and 8,530 square feet of commercial space. There would be 463 parking spaces, including 100 for the public.
Public features would include a butterfly garden, dog park, bike lockers, and improvements to the station and Underline. There would also be a management office for the Underline organization.
Annual rent for the developer would start at $245,000 and reach $529,000.
Terra’s team includes Zyscovich Architects, BCC Engineering, Kimley Horn, and Spinnaker Group.
