It’s all started with grande plans of Genting – huge Maylasia based casino operator to enter Miami and build a $3 billion 14 acre luxury pocker world filled with condos , marina, entertainment venues and elevated lagoon with shopping destinations. Former Miami Herald headquarters got bought out for misley $326,000,000 and demolished. Then there’s was no green light for the gambling and the plan got scaled to two residential towers , hotel and retail while opening and operating World Resorts casino in the Bimini island. Draft plans had 800 feet promenade and a marina. So, finally some started moving with application filed for the 20 boat marina and agreement with the the city that Genting will build out a bay walk under the I395 overpass. No matter if casino will ever happen or not just looking at the renderings when cant not marvel at the miraculous development that is envisioned on the site, and am sure hope some will transpire in this Omni district of town we all call our home.
What Art Facone and Nitin Motwani are creating in downtown Miami 30 acre area is absolutely astounding. The idea to partner up with Dan Kodsi who gave his Paramount Bay right down the street into foreclosure and owned the acreage where the Worldcenter is to be erected is making amazing strides! First the tower with 473 standard residences, 28 penthouses and 12 villas and 58 stories is selling with average price of $700 per foot and this is exactly where Camillus house homeless shelter was just a few years ago and one can argue that you can still score best “boy” in the city just walking distance from the project. High street retail is coming with over 300,000 sq ft of shopping with Victoria’s Secret , H & M and Zara that were heard of- those are all high traffic merchants. This is the epicenter of everything downtown and trust that it is going Big! Architects of the development are Elkus/ Manfredi and completion is scheduled 2018. Smallest condo is 1294 sq ft.Amenities? Will just name a few: third floor straight entrance into the retail promenade, 9th floor activity area with soccer field and running course , floors 55-58 yacht sky deck with skyview lounge and swimming pool. Welcome to Miami!

All Aboard Florida will be a passenger train service at the speed of 75-129 miles per hour will be connecting downtown Miami to Orlando. New project had gotten approved by the Miami Urban Development board that will be overlooking I95 on the border of West Brickell and Little Havana. Most exciting about it will be the artistic mural wrapped around the building that will change intermittently!!!
Called Megacenter Brickell, the two tower project designed by Borges + Associates Architects’ principal Reinaldo Borges will be built at 420 Southwest Seventh Street and 427 Southwest Eighth Street. We have pics of proposed structure and current view of the lot where it will get built. The project will have 57 “housing units”, four stories of office space, 10,000 sq ft retail, storage and 111 parking spot. Partners in the project are the Chilean group called Red Megacentro
Second Chinese development is coming to West Brickell area. Purchased for $75,000,000 land just got into the design and planning for the China City Brickell project with over 3,200,000 gross floor area.In the previous blog we had written about the 42 story flip in North beach oceanfront where sole developer is China City Construction Group Holding, this one is being joined by the The Hong Kong-listed China City was formerly known as Chun Wo same name. Development will have two twin residential towers, retail/office and hotel component and will take about six years to materialize.
In reality this is just a beginning for the Asian markets to recognize Miami, since we are still way lower price points than Toronto or San Fran!
